Gofere is excited to announce the upcoming launch of a dedicated product line tailored specifically for school sports. This decision comes after extensive research and experimentation conducted in our fabric and performance laboratories, coupled with valuable insights gained from on-field observations.

For the past two years, Gofere has been a trusted provider of sportswear for numerous schools and school sport associations, particularly focusing on member states affiliated with the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Associations (FEASSSA).

Based in the vibrant manufacturing hub of Gofere in Addis Ababa, the research and development department has been diligently observing and experimenting with its products during school tournaments across three countries. This effort focuses on several key parameters including biological and physical levels of the student athletes, environmental factors, nature of sports activities. The culmination of this extensive research has led to the creation of a specialized product line designed specifically for school sports.

In a recent announcement, Samuel Mekonen, Gofere's CEO and co-founder, highlighted the significance of this new product line.

The announcement comes in along with the exceptional result of Gofere’s affiliated partner, the Uganda Schools Sports Association, which successfully participated in the ISF Gymnasiade Bahrain 2024, bringing home medals while wearing our winning jerseys.

Our new sportswear line features designs specifically tailored for the unique needs of student athletes. The product line caters to a variety of sports disciplines, from track and field to team sports. As we prioritize quality in our products, we used fabrics that are breathable, moisture-wicking, and resistant to wear and tear.’’

The product catalogue will be unveiled in January 2025 in Kampala, Uganda.

Gofere will soon begin rolling out its product lines for the 2025/26 season starting December 2024 with the inaugural release features the special edition of our basketball wears, designed for elite basketball athletes.
